California's Redwood Coast

Explore Humboldt County

Why? Quality of Life!

Tired of the hassle and hustle of the city? Looking for a better quality of life? Consider the fresh air, open spaces, clean streets, much-loved library, great schools and quiet neighborhoods of the Victorian Village of Ferndale, the quintessential American small town.

barnNestled in a verdant dairying valley between majestic North Coast Redwood Forests, Ferndale is the gateway to California's Lost Coast, 260 miles north of San Francisco, 16 miles southwest of Eureka and just five miles from the beach! The weather is mild, averaging about 60 degrees year-round.

In addition to its physical beauty, Ferndale's greatest strength is its sense of community. People come together to participate in its cultural life, supporting our artists and artisans. Our volunteer fire department has an incredible 2-minute response time, and volunteers are the backbone of the many community activities on which Ferndale prides itself. Ferndale welcomes new members to the community who appreciate what it means to take care of our town and each other.

This is a pitch-in place, a place you will know your neighbors, a place you can really call home.

The Victorian Village of Ferndale is five miles off the beaten path, where it continues to be one of Humboldt County's unique, prosperous, and self-sufficient small towns. You may not make a fortune in Ferndale, but it's really worth making a living here because this is living!

Contact the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce to help you find the place for your business.

We don't charge commissions; we're all volunteers helping our hometown to find great new neighbors and friends: 707-786-4477
