Castle Rock's script revolves around the Majestic Theatre. It calls for a very specific lobby layout; the Ferndale Repertory Theatre just wasn't right.

It was easier for construction crews to create a foundation on the city's Main Street parking lot and build their own theatre. The old building looks so well established that many visitors ask what store hides behind it.

The film's plot involves fixing up the sad, old theatre building.
